Senate District 13
Important Issues

I am a candidate because I want to address the issues that are most important to all of the citizens of this District for the future of Colorado. I will make legislative decisions only after careful analysis of all sides of the issues. My decisions will never be made based upon a narrow political agenda that distracts from what is best for all of the people of this District and State. As a prosecutor, I quickly learned that when I failed to listen to both sides of an issue, I often found myself on the wrong side of that issue." (Ken Storck, 11/5/2009)

We all value thriving businesses. When business thrives, more of us are employed. At the state capital, I will look to new areas for job creation. Developing new/renewable energy will revitalize the economy, and have the added benefit of helping keep Weld County the wonderful place we live. We have the unique opportunity to become the energy capital of Colorado, with continued oil and gas production and the development of wind, solar, and other alternative energy sources.

We all value our children's future. A world-class education provides the path for an educated workforce for the economic future of Colorado. I will work to find creative solutions for educational funding within the requirement that the state budget must be balanced. I will bring the perspective of an educator to addressing other issues that plague our education system.

We all value our ability to travel safely in our daily lives. Our roads and bridges are essential to our lives as we travel to work or take our children to school. As a Senator, I will look to the future to develop our transportation infrastructure, encouraging economic stimulus and job creation. The tourism industry and the shipping of everyday products are impacted by how we address transportation issues in this state.
